Sort Standings: Head to Head
This article explains how the Head-to-Group and Head-to-Head standings sort metrics work.
Head to Group (HTG) Calculation Steps
- Tied teams are grouped together.
- All teams in the tied group must have played all of the other tied teams for HTG to be considered.
- Teams are compared to each other based on win %. Their win % record only considers games where home and away are both members of the tied team group.
- Teams are then ranked based on this calculated win %.
- If any teams are tied in HTG win % then the next standings sort metric will be used.
Head to Head (HTH) Calculation Steps
- Tied teams are grouped together.
- Every team in the tied group must have at least one game played against a team in the tied group for HTH to be considered.
- If one team has beaten all other teams in the tied group (without losing) then they will be considered the winner and ranked 1st.
- If a group winner is determined and the tied group has 3 or more teams then the winner will be excluded and step 3 will be repeated with remaining teams.
- If no winner can be determined from step 3 then the next standings sort metric will be used.
